Rolex Serial Numbers with Production Dates
Couple of notes:
- When Rolex reached the 1'000'000 production serial in the early 1954, they restarted the production serial: this is why our page considers only watches produced after year 1954.

- If your watch has a Rolex warranty, it could happen a mismatch between the serial number and the number annotated in the warranty.
The reason behind this is that if the watch was sold in the years after the production (aka the serial number) the warranty would have annotate a different number (that is the number of the year the sale was made).
Where to look for my Rolex serial number
Between the lugs
On the side of the case between the lugs, behind the bracelet by the 6 o’clock area.
On the case AND on the rehaut
Starting in 2005, Rolex began to engrave the serial number of the watch on the rehaut (also called an inside flange), located inside the case, between the dial and crystal.
On the rehaut
In 2008, they started to engrave the serial numbers only on the rehaut, located inside the case, between the dial and crystal.
